TCI API

The TCI API (text command interface) is the original DisplayNet API and remains the most complete. Every command works here, including the few that have no REST form.

A session is a connection you open, initialize once, and hold. Commands and replies flow both ways over it, and notifications arrive unprompted for as long as it is open. Three transports carry the same session:

TransportWhere
Telnetport 6980
SSHthe api account, once RSA keys are set up
WebSocketports 7000 (plain) and 7010 (TLS)

They differ only in how the bytes travel. The commands, the replies, and the initialization sequence are identical.

The WebSocket on 7000 and 7010 is not the one the REST API upgrades from /api. See Connecting to the API for the difference.
